Sore Nipples while Breastfeeding

So my daughter is five weeks old today and when she latch onto my left breast it hurts god awful. It hurts so bad that I jump and cry in pain. My right side is just fine. I’m not sure if it’s her latch or if it’s something else but I’m wishing and hoping someone could help me. I’ve searched all over the internet and I’ve read I should put my milk on my nipple use nipple cream and shield which I’ve done already and it was a temporary fix but it’s back to hurting. Please help
