Cervidil vs Cytotec?

I’m currently overdue by about 2 days (due date was 10/21) and I’m scheduled for a ripening with cervidil on 10/30 and pitocin induction on 10/31. I’m really hoping to avoid an induction all together, but if that doesn’t happen, what is your experience with cervidil? Is the insertion painful? I have a really difficult time with cervical checks. I find them excruciating but that may be because I see a different doctor every visit at my

practice and that makes me extremely uncomfortable-plus I’m still only 1cm/50% effaced as of this afternoon. Extremely discouraging. The doc I saw today suggested that Cytotec, an oral ripening agent, might be a better option for me. Does anyone have experience with one or both of these ripening agents?
