How long did you ladies wait to have sex after you had your baby?

Doctor cleared or not, it takes 6 weeks for the open sore in your uterus (where the placenta was ripped away) to heal. Having sex before this is healed can and often DOES cause severe infection and/or hemorrhaging. This is with c-sections AND vaginal births. I've seen women on here warn because they got life threatening infections and one woman, at 3 weeks PP had to be rushed to the hospital for bleeding and almost died. Her new baby would have been without a mom because 'she just couldn't help herself.'
Can you? Possibly.   
Should you? Absolutely not.
Enjoy your baby and spend the time bonding. You're gonna have sex again. I promise.

2 days! i got rushed to hospital was on all machines had all IV's i thought i was going to die i couldnt stop shaking i could bearly see! Never ever again, im still suffering pain a year and a half on never ever again will i make that mistake, and if i can make 1 person change there mind i would be happy because i dont want any mummy to go through what i went through, i was in hospital 3 WEEKS!!! I wanted to die.  Please wait till a dr clears you♡

I'm sorry but after my daughter was born the LAST thing on my mind was sex. Even after I was cleared for it I didn't want to...don't know how or why you can't wait until your body completely heals from birthing a tiny human.

I was cleared after 6wks, but waited 3 months. My son bruised the hell out of my canal, and it took me a looong time to heal. Even the speculum at my checkup hurt, and she used the smallest one she had. It was 2 months before I could even sit down comfortably again without my donut pillow, so sex was the furthest thing from my mind for quite awhile.

3 weeks pp after both babies.  My first pp appointment was at 5 weeks pp and after my second it was at 4 weeks pp. I know your supposed to wait till the doc says but I didn’t and everything was fine.

My LO is 2mo and I’m still bleeding, so not happening for a while.
