Overproducing milk?

Morning :)
My son is now two weeks old and has taken really well to breastfeeding. However, I feel like my right boob is producing too much milk. I know we have one that's better than the other, but I'm almost reluctant to feed him from that side as it comes out so fast that it makes him cough and splutter and spit milk everywhere.

Will it settle down, or should I try to regulate how long he has on that side by taking him off for a break every minute or so? He usually only does 5 minutes on that side, and can happily do 15 minutes on the left side.

He also came 7w early so is only 4lbs 3oz still, and the midwife commented on how babies this small usually struggle with being breastfed so I'm not sure what to do right now!

I can’t stress contacting a lactation nurse enough. They don’t recommend pumping until about 4-6 weeks. I know the other ladies said pump but I’m pretty sure that will cause your breast to produce more milk. 
The lactation nurse can help you and your LO establish a good latch so he’s not choking. Your body Can then regulate how much milk is needed. 
My LO & i have the same issue on my left side. She only ate for about 10 mins at a time but was getting enough milk so we were fine. Now that I am pumping she favors the right side so I pump the left, but I still alternate so that I pump my right side too.

You should regulate soon. In the first couple weeks our boobs go into overdrive and then calm down once they realize what baby is actually eating and needs. But I would pump a little on that side before nursing him if you can.

I had the same issue so I had to pump every 3 hrs!! The pumping has helped out a lot
