listen up ladies! it's about to get real
I had my daughter 6 1/2 months ago and I've always heard of Ppd but didn't realize you could get a delayed reaction. If you hit past the first few months and all of a sudden you feel disconnected and uninterested in your baby, it's not you being a bad mom or not wanting to be a mom or anything like that. You may have a delayed hormone drop reaction resulting in late postpartum depression. I found this out a month ago when I wanted nothing to do with my daughter. I knew I love her but my body wouldn't allow me to. I didn't wanna be around her, I pawned her on her dad any chance I got, I got depressed thinkin about taking care of her. If you EVER feel like this it's never too late to get help. Sometimes the pod doesn't hit right away like for most moms. Sometimes it can kick in randomly after months of parenting. But I promise you if you get help, it gets better. Do what's best for your child and your mental well being. Get help. And remember that you love your baby even if you feel like you can't sometimes. You're a good mother and someone is always there to listen and to help you. Stay strong mommies. It's hard but it's worth it.
