Risk for Down syndrome
Hey everyone! So about 3 weeks ago I had my triple marker screening. I'm 23 years old with my second and my baby's risk for downs came back 1/297. For my age, it's supposed to be 1/1047 or something like that. I went in yesterday to speak with a genetics counselor and have a level II ultrasound done. My Dr. said my ultrasound came back great and he didn't see any signs of concerns. He also did mention that baby was measuring 9 days behind but their cut off was 10 days to change the due date. He said they'll try to see if the 9 days difference could have made a difference in my screening results. I admit I have been worried since I heard about my results but some weight has been lifted when my ultrasound came back normal but still some worry here and there since it's not a guarantee everything is fine and also while I wait for a call back from my genetics counselor. Regardless, I chose not to get an amino as hubby and I will still keep our baby. Has anyone gone through this or know if 9 days could make a big difference in screening results? Thanks in advance! <3
