Coloring hair??

Question

When is it a good time to go get your hair done? I'm dying to get my hair redone. I colored it red before I knew I was pregnant & now it's turning light orange with blond highlights for some reason. My sister does my hair since she is a hairstylist & she also wants to color my hair but into a more neutral color. People tell me to wait to be at least 20 weeks but some people say I can do it now since I am 17 weeks & 3 days

I bleached mine during my 1st trimester. Probably around 12 weeks. I've also done it probably twice since then and I'm 31w now.

I had. Mine colored and bleached in a ventilated area early in my first trimester. I haven't seen any real studies that show it is harmfulness. Go get your hair done girl!

I was told to wait until the second trimester so I did mine at 14 weeks and everything turned out fine. The lady who did my hair said the during the first trimester sometimes the hormones effect the color.

Dr said use professional dyes less harmful chems and do it in well ventilated area and u will be ok

Just make sure it's well ventilated so the fumes don't get to you, and ask your sister to use foils/ keep it away from your scalp as your skin can get more sensitive when pregnant. I had mine done at 12wks and the hairdresser just kept it away from my skin. Your hair can get thicker/greasier/ dry during pregnancy so these changes might be affecting how the colour ladsts. If your nervous of using dye you could try colour restore/protect shampoo or a semi-permanent colour (the 8 washed ones) to top the colour up. Or maybe think about natural colour like red henna.
