Baby shower drama

So I've been telling my husband for over a month now about our shower and how important it was to me that he be there. he's been saying for the last month that he will be there and last night he tells me his son has a soccer game at 1015 while my shower is at 11 and he's going to the game. I've been telling him for a month now so he could make the arrangements he needed so he and my stepson could be there. My family has put a lot of time and money into making this a special day for us and he's going to miss more than half of the shower. Am I right to be upset and hurt by this?
