Check this website http://www.breastpumps.aeroflowinc.com (or just google aeroflow breast pump) put in your insurance info and they will contact the insurance company for you and figure out what is covered, it is a free service and they have awesome customer service.

I've used the medela and the ameda. Both were practically the same. I would recommend either.

Medela is what the hospital uses (the one my mom is at at least) she said they always recommend that brand. Most insurance will cover a breast pump these days so check and find out!

I have used both a medela and a spectra. Both are good! The medela is much much louder than my spectra. But it's also a lot more portable. I use the spectra at home and the medela on the go since I have the car adapter. I haven't noticed a big difference in milk output between the two. My insurance would cover either but I am borrowing the medela (bought new tubing) so I opted to try the spectra. I love both!

I'm going with a medela pump in style advanced. I've had many family/friends say they loved it.

I went with Spectra S2. Both that and the Medela were covered by insurance, and I went with the spectra because it's a "closed" system. I'm not going back to work for a while, so I don't require a super portable pump. If I was going right back to work I probably would have gotten the Medela.

I used a safety 1st breast pump that worked OK was cheap and lasted literally a month, I again bought an evenflo breast pump that I didn't like as well but it lasted longer maybe 4 months. With my second and third I got the medela pump in style that suited my needs and worked through 2 kids.
