I went in for my 35 week appointment and while my doctor was doing my group b strep screen she checked me and we were surprised that I was 2 cm dilated. We were not too concerned so I continued my work day at the clinic. During the afternoon I kept feeling some pressure and so I mentioned it to my doctor and she decided to check me again about 3:30 and I was 4cm! I went over for a NST and my contractions were every 6 minutes. Once I got to 6 cm they broke my water. From there the contractions got VERY intense. Around 8 cm I had them put an intrathecal in and that seemed to take the edge off just enough to help me get through the last 2 cm. I pushed for about 30 min and my beautiful son was born. He was 5 weeks early but still weighed in at 5lbs 12oz and 17in long. He had to be flown to a bigger hospital for help breathing but is doing well. He will be in the hospital a week or so. He is amazing and I am so in love. Emmett James 💕
