Is it really that common to get pregnant again right after giving birth?

I’m due December 17th with our first child and my husband and I have decided to wait 3-6 years before we try for another one. I know I’ll be super fertile after giving birth but I’ll be getting back on birth control and breastfeeding. Plus, my husband will be using condoms. I know things can happen but is it really that common? I see so many women on here getting pregnant again 2 or 3 months after having a baby. I really scared that’s going to happen.

Depends on the person, really. How fertile you are, if you took fertility treatments to become pregnant, etc..

As one of those women who got pregnant at 2 months PP, my advice to you is this - don't rely on just breastfeeding and condoms; wait until the BC kicks in. I was scheduled to get my implant inserted and ended up pregnant before the appointment. It was the only time my husband and I had sex, and I was breastfeeding, and we used a condom.
This time I'm getting depo in the hospital and my husband and I still aren't doing anything until the implant is in. I'm NOT going to be pregnant for 3 straight years.

I was conceived 6 weeks after my brother was born. We are 11 months apart 😜

It can be, just make sure you discuss contraception or at least know what you want.  I got the implant at my 6week visit.
