Does straight (and/or cis) people saying 'That's gay' in a derogatory way bother you?

So a girl who's a freind of mine got a paper back today and missed 9 questions. She was like "That's gay." I told her not to say that, and it wasn't cool. I'm a bi (but lean towards women) female and I find it offensive and she can't understand why. I tried to explain, and she still didn't understad. Ugh.

honestly, I say it myself, as a joke that's one thing. I appreciate satire and offensive humor but if I here someone use it to insult someone else that's where I draw the line

It's less of it doesn't bother me it's more of I am not bothered by it it's more of that I feel as if since they are not apart of the LGBTQ+ community they will never understand but it only bothers me when people a being hurt or verbally abused for it and that's not okay and I think people of the LGBTQ+ community should educate straight people who think being apart of the LGBTQ+ community is a bad thing and is not correct or "humane" that there is nothing wrong with us and that love is love and it's what it is and they can say what ever they want about us to try and bring us down but we are a community that builds each other up. 
 (Sorry for the lengthy comment but I just ranted a little)

If i do it, i have no reason to say that someone else cant. For me, ANY word can be offensive. Its about INTENT. If i call someone a cunt with the INTENT to hurt them, then it WILL. But if i call my friend a cunt jokingly, and they are AWARE its a joke, then why not??? 
If someone says gay in a joking way, its not offensive in my OPINION. 
If they have the INTENT to hurt me, ill deck ‘em

I am kind of bothered especially when someone stereotypes gays/lesbians or says "that's gay" when they miss six questions on a test. No, I'm not gay I'm pansexual.
