Finding out gender at 10 weeks?!?!

My doctor called today and asked me if I wanted to do a blood test at 10 weeks (I am currently 9 weeks) to find out the gender!? Of course I said yes! But I'm a little skeptical, can it be accurate at such an early state?? Has anyone else done such thing? And was it accurate?

It is definitely accurate when performed at the doctors office when a blood sample. However, I would call your insurance just to double check that they cover it, because many don’t unless you are high risk. With my insurance, it wasn’t covered and if I wanted to pay out of pocket, it was going to be nearly $500 😳 I just waited for the ultrasound haha

There’s a blood test kit you can order online called SneakPeek. It works the same way as the doctor’s office one (tests for fetal DNA in the mother’s blood).
Obviously there’s more room for user error in your home environment (if any of your SO’s DNA gets in the sample you’ll get a “boy” result) but it’s only like $70 so if you’re dying to know it might be a good option!
I’m taking my sample next week 😋

My clinic does the blood work only if you are over the age of 35. They are very accurate. I would make sure insurance would cover it. Some of the blood work can be spendy
