Scheduled C Section becomes and Early C Section
So we had a scheduled c section set for October 16. But let me just tell you, I was DONE being pregnant! I tried everything to induce naturally. Sex, spicy food, raspberry leaf tea, birthing ball, walking, etc.... it was 2 weeks til our delivery date when the dr checked me and said “no progression, no dilation, and she’s really high” 😑😑 after all that stuff I did and she’s still not even trying to be ready???!!! I was so upset. I gave up, stopped doing everything I had been, and just accepted the 16th as my fate.
Fast forward to that weekend. ALL weekend I was having contractions. Not painful, just consistent. Called the drs office and the nurse told me to come in Monday morning just to get checked. Go in Monday the 9th, and the dr didn’t even seem like she wanted to check me. The first thing she said was “so you ready for next Monday?” And she kept making comments about my section for Monday the 16th. She didn’t check anything but my blood pressure then sent me on my way. I was soooooo mad. Why the hell am I contracting and going through all this if I’m not in labor?
Later that night, I get a call from the hospital. The lady was trying to tell me they need payment before I’m admitted. I know they can’t legally turn me away but I was already mad and upset from the morning and now it’s 6 pm and this woman is stressing me out about hospital payments. My husband and I get into an argument about me being emotional and at 9 pm I go to bed.
I literally slept ONE HOUR. At 9:57 I woke up in pain and thought maybe I had to use the rr and that’s why I was cramping. So I get up slowly to go to the bathroom and as soon as my feet hit the floor, *splash*. 😳 ummmmm that’s not normal and I did NOT pee on myself. I go to the restroom and my contractions continue. With every contraction, my water continues flowing. I call out to my husband and he wakes up with an attitude and says “what??!!” Thinking to myself *this mf here😠* but just say ummm my water broke. That’s not normal, I didn’t pee on myself and he’s just barely waking up then he’s like ok let me get the bag and call the sitter to come stay with the boys...
We headed to the hospital and my contractions really are manageable for a while. The only bad thing is my water keeps leaking with each contraction so it’s like I’m peeing on myself and it feels disgusting! Finally the hospital nurse realizes I don’t need to be evaluated, I need to be admitted! So they get me into a room and hooked up to Iv lines and monitors. And once we’re settled my contractions grow wayyy too intense. I was having almost 5 minute long contractions! My husband and the nurse are trying to get answers and signatures from me in between contractions and they tell me my dr isn’t coming. Her on call is coming and I’ve never met him. But guess what, the contractions are so bad I don’t care who cuts me open as long as she gets out safely. The anesthesiologist comes in and introduces himself and I tell him “I need you to be my best friend as soon as possible!”
They walk me across the hall to operating and the anesthesiologist gets me set up with a spinal block. Hallelujah!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
After that, the c Section was a breeze. Maybe bc it’s my third one. But hubby comes in, they get started and at 11:45 pm, Arielle joins the world and makes it brighter. 7 lbs 11 oz and a head full of beautiful black hair...
After having two boys, two miscarriages, and waiting forever for her to be here, our family is finally complete.
