TTC a boy help!

Anyone have any advice or any success with TTC a boy? I ve heard everything from eating Alkaline foods a few weeks before conception, having sex as close to ovulation as possible, and doing the deed with my man behind me to help male sperm along. Mostly want advice on when to actually have sex, what it means to do it "as close to ovulation as possible" thank you!
