Ivf first time ...wait till im not working?

Question

We have been trying for 2 years and just found out my hubby has low motility morphology and count. My doctor said we should go right to ivf. I am kind of freaking out because she basically said we cant have children naturally. I am a teacher and get out july 1st. Also slighly freaking out about needles. I am a teacher and am out july 1st. Do you think its a better idea to wait till im out to be stress free and able to deal with all the meds??? Any and all help or advice greatly appreciated ❤

I'd wait until you're off, otherwise you'll have to ask for time off which can also be stressful.  If I was doing IVF all over again I'd take an entire week off and that doesn't even count the monitoring and ultrasounds while you are stimming.  It sounds like you have the perfect summer setup and I'd take full advantage of it if I was in your shoes. Good luck!

I'm a teacher also. I did an IVF round in October with a transfer in January. I didn't find it too bad to work into my schedule (even with coaching and clubs), but I had to use more sick days than I was hoping too. Doing another cycle May into June and will probably have the same concern.

It will def be worth waiting until you're free from work. I took off two weeks for my IVF and it was so great to not stress about my appointments and egg retrieval and the transfer. I didn't have to try to get shifts covered and I tried my best to be stress free. I am doing the same thing this time around pretty much.

If you can time it for the holidays that makes life easier :) I managed to time it so that retrieval was in the holidays. I was glad not to have to go in the day after!! I started my injections before the holidays.

We have a frozen transfer coming up and that will likely be in school time but I don't have as many appointments to attend.

You'll be surprised what you can manage when it comes to the injections!!

I'm a teacher too and will be doing our last iui this month. If it doesn't work we'll hopefully be moving onto ivf for the summer.

I'm a teacher too, and I have to start taking estrogen the cycle before the needles, so I'll start that in June whenever my cycle allows. You will need to start going in every morning or every other morning starting on 5 days or so after you start doing the shots. I started the injections day 3 of my cycle I think last summer.
Do your best to time your injections end of June and then retrieval in July.

If you can time it while you are off it prob would be a lot less stressful because you will have to go to a lot of appointments and you won't have to worry bout getting time off etc. The meds and needles are not as scary as they sound and once you get to that point I felt like the process moved pretty fast.
