Can birth control cause weight gain?

Im 15 and im being put on birth control out of precaution and wanting to be safe for a “just in a case” moment. I currently weigh 90 pounds (which is healthy for me and my doctors are not concerned) and I’m wondering if the birth control will cause any weight gain?

Typical weight gain is around 2 pounds.... so no it doesn’t really make you gain weight. Some people do see severe weight gain but that’s not common at all

Very slight weight gain - usually in your breasts. I went up a full size. My period cramps eased significantly and acne got much better. 
Even if it's just to regulate I strong recommend.

it can. I think 15 is also a typical time when your body is changing anyways.

It's possible but it doesn't happen for everyone. part of the reason I stopped using my birth control was the severe weight gain it caused me. But when my sister was using the same birth control as me she was fine.
