we wore told to cut formula in half (go down to 16 oz a day.) 8 oz formula în the am and 8 0z before bath time and sleep time. Pediatrician SPECIFICALLY SAID to increase the water intake to replace the formula we took away. and increase the solid food intake.  Pediatrician also said we don't HAVE TO switch to whole milk. we could switch to toddler formula if we wanted.  the only reason pediatrician said we can start whole milk, was because it's a LOT cheaper than formula. I tried whole milk and our daughter can't stand it. we tried transitioning SLOWLY  (7 oz formula and 1 Oz cows milk ), and she gagged on it and refused it. so I put her in toddler formula of the sane brand as her infant formula. toddler formula has all the nutrients needed for a TODDLER,  on a daily basis. yes, it's more expensive than milk, but I don't have 45 minutes X 2 times a day, to sit and force feed her cows milk. she doesn't like it, oh well, toddler formula it is. also, she takes 2 oz X 3 times a day (6 oz total a day) of water,  with her breakfast, ,lunch and dinner
