Baby shower or no baby shower? That's the question

I'm from the US where baby showers are typically the norm, but I've moved to the UK. I've researched a bit and it seems baby showers in the UK are seen as pretentious and a bit of a jinx (from what I've read) any UK moms have any suggestions/advice/alternatives??

I've read of wetting the baby's head after birth (seems like more for the guys) and a tea time thing were visitors come over for tea at specific dates and times, but was wondering what everyones opinions/thoughts/advice/suggestionswould be on this.

I'm from the UK. My friend had a baby shower and I plan on having one myself, a lot of my girl friends have had baby showers but we tend to do it 2-3 months before the baby is due. I think it's up to you really you get to be pampered and spoilt for the day and your celebrating a life you have created I don't see what's wrong with that

I'm from the UK and know a few people who have had baby showers! I think I'll have one too tbh as I didn't with my first!! Normally around 2 months before babies due😊 go for it girl! The men defo enjoy wetting Babies head (any excuse for a drink lol) xx
