Braxton Hicks or Actual Labor?!

Hey moms, I'm a first timer who is 31 weeks and 4 days pregnant. My due date did get moved up to December 21. I lost my mucus plug Saturday Morning after a night of extreme pain. Well as of a few hours ago I've been feeling what I think are contractions. Can anyone explain the difference between Braxton Hicks and Actual Labor contractions before I make a wasted trip to the hospital.

Typically I believe they look at timing and intensity. So if they are consistent, getting closer together and becoming more intense that signals that it is labor. If what you are experiencing is really random and not that painful it's probably Braxton hicks. It doesn't hurt to give the doctor a call to see what they think.

Ur not due until the end of December? And braxtons are like "squeeze" contractions are more.. ow,owowowowowOUCH #%*! Like a terrible stomach ache with cramps.

Braxton Hicks are mostly in the stomach and contractions will move from around the back to the sides, but I would still call your doctor to make sure
