Okay, so we are both big planners- very practical. If there had been any issues with our son, it wouldn't have changed us having him or not, but we would have wanted to prepare for whatever disabilities may have been present. We wanted to be able to educate ourselves. Also, finding out the gender at that early was fun! Almost my entire pregnancy, we were able to use fitting pronouns and call him by name! Everyone is different tho. Some would prefer not to know any of it. The early testing is noninvasive. Good luck! 
(This is him, now! Quite healthy, but were he not, we would be just as proud and happy-just preferred to be ready for whatever God gave us)

we did because if there was any issues, we just wanted to be prepared. plus we are considered "high risk due to assisted fertility" which alone causes the chances of genetic issues to be higher since we conceived via IVF. they do all the testing anyway, unless we refused it.

I did because my doctor was worried about another miscarriage due to my history. No issues were found and we’re having another boy!

I didn't because I figured if there were any issues, we'd find them at the 20 week ultrasound or at birth.  I've had two completely healthy babies so far :) I definitely do not fault the mom's that do it though!

I had genetic testing after anomalies were found on the anatomy scan. I am glad I did at that point because we were able to diagnose my son before he was born and had the help he would need set up prior to birth.
