Why do you stockpile diapers?

This is a genuine question, not being snarky. I'm curious what people's reasons are for stockpiling diapers. I did it for my first and his skin ended up being super sensitive so I had to return a TON which ended up being more of a pain than to just buy them as we go. Is it for financial reasons? Or some people just aren't picky about what brand they get? I've noticed a lot of people just buy tons of different brands!

I'm a mom of 3 going on 4. I don't think stockpiling is a good idea at all. My kids have had to use different diaper and wipes brands due sensitivity, plus they've gone through crazy growth spurts and outgrew sizes at different paces. Returning bulky boxes of diapers is the pits! And nowadays with online delivery, it's not like you always have to run to the store to pick up diapers. I'm a buy as you go mom!

We’re stocking up because i’ll be staying at home with baby and not working for a while. So even if I have to go and exchange for size/Brand, at least they are already paid for and we won’t need to come out of pocket. Stocking wipes too.

I'm a ftm, but I'm not stockpiling. I received two packs of two different brands as gifts, I'll try those, then go out and buy a big box after baby is born, go from there. I just don't have the room to store a shit ton of diapers, nor would I want to make room to store a bunch of diapers. I also want to figure out what works best for my baby first, and I'm really hoping she isn't sensitive, so I can buy the cheaper brand.

I didn’t stockpile with my first and I don’t really regret it per-say. 
I did stockpile for my second simply because: I live out in the country so going to the store is a bit of a pain, I have another kid so it’s a little more challenging to get out, it’s one less thing to worry about & if he doesn’t react well or fit then I plan on trading or returning them to Walmart and switching. 
My husband and I just decided that while I was working I’d get a pack / box every paycheck since I was going to stop working around 36 weeks until who knows when.
