How long to wait before taking your newborn out?

My little girl is just over a week old. I’m getting stir crazy at home now that my husband went back to work. I’m wondering when I could take her out in public? I’m talking about maybe going to work to show her off. There’s not too many people there and she would just stay in the car seat, no one would touch her. What would you do? Is it safe?

You can take them out whenever you feel comfortable to do so. They advise you not to take them to places full of people and germs eg. Mall but going for a walk or to the park is fine. Have fun

Babywear and take her out whenever. Don't let strangers touch her. The fresh air is good for the immune system

take her out now !!! honestly I wish I did that with my son he was born I  Feb I just stayed home with him little did I know that in northern Europe I read they bundle the babies even newbirns and put them outside in the cold by themselves to get them used to the temp and get less germs from being inside. if they can do that then I could have went out with him lol.

It's your choice. You'll always have different opinions from everyone. As long as she's dressed for the weather and covered up being that little it doesn't matter. My daughter will be a month old this week and we took her to her aunts volleyball game already (just left her in the car seat with the car seat cover over it & no one touched her). We have to take them to a germ infested pediatricians office with sick kids everywhere and they were born in a germ infested hospital.. I dont think the people who say "don't take them out into public" really think about that. Now, I'm not saying let everyone touch her but I think it's completely fine to get out of the house if weather permits!

As long as she's properly dressed for this weather, and you're sure no one where you work is sick go ahead

I keep my infant inside unless necessary like Dr appts and such. This go I'm having a winter baby so basically I'll be inside til spring!!

My daughter was two days old when we went out.  She is almost a year and still hasn’t gotten sick.  We feel like exposing her to things really helped

My doctor said it's completely up to me. He said if anything, keep him in a wrap close to my body and don't let people be touching all over him and especially his face area.
