STD Testing

Ok ladies so here's my situation. I'm thinking about getting a check up and having my doctor test me for an arrangement of STD's for peace of mind. I don't have any symptoms of having any forms of STD's (itching, burning sensation when I pee, unusual discharge, sores or red bumps, etc) but I want to just check and make sure because I know some STD's can go unnoticed or be mistaken for other conditions.

The whole reason this came to mind was after I gave a guy a handjob. I used a little bit of spit for lubricant and after he finished he asked me if I had herpes or any other forms of STD's. I told him no and thought it was all good. He then asked me at least 5 more times later that night if I was sure. I told him no again and thought that that was the end of the conversation. It's been several weeks since then and he's asked me AGAIN if everything was all good. Honestly it just really hurts me that he keeps asking. I understand him wanting to make sure I'm clean because ya know, safety first, but it's really weighed on me that he's asked me repeatedly. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to go get tested so I could have peace of mind, but I could also have proof just in case.

To be completely open with you guys I've had 2 different fwb's this year (not at the same time) and 1 one night stand a few weeks back. The 2 fwb's I had we used protection majority of the time since I'm not on BC. The one night stand we did not. Mostly because we were drunk and he had whiskey dick so we didn't actually get to have sex. It was more him trying to get it in but was too soft to actually penetrate so we just gave up and went to sleep. Which obviously STD's can still be spread by contact either with or without a condom.

My questions for you ladies are:

1) Have you ever had to get an STD test before? What was that experience like?

2) If you had a positive result, how did you tell your partner/partners?

3) How did you bring it up with your doctor?

4) Did you feel guilty/ashamed when you got yours done?

5) Did you go to a doctor's office or did you do an at-home testing kit?

Thanks in advance for your advice and answers! If I think of anything else I'll post in the comments section :)
