Colors?

My LO has a very extensive vocabulary & has learned a lot, however for about 6 months i have been trying to teach her colors with zero progress. No matter what i teach her everything is “blue” lol. Im sure with time she will get it but i was just wondering if its normal & if im overthinking it for now? Thanks!

I am a early childhood teacher.  Children at this stage in their development are not ready to respond to such a question.  The best thing you can do is while they are play say things like "I see you are playing with the red fire truck."  Exposing them to the correct vocabulary during play is going to help them the most.  I also do color sensory play with my son.  I have fun sensory boxes  where the objects are all one color.

Like another commenter said, the ability to conceptualize color comes around at age 3 or so. Sometimes girls may get I️t faster. My son FOR SURE has no idea. He has a puzzle toy where you stick the blocks by shape and color into the corresponding side, and I️ watch him bang a orange rectangle into a purple square shape over and over on a daily basis.

Everything is purple here! I think colors are a 3 year milestone so we have plenty of time. Some kids get them super early but most get them later

My kid says everything is blue too! My husband said I wonder if he’s color blind! It made me laugh but I think he just doesn’t know the colors yet and blue is easy to say!

I have to disagree with others, both of my girls knew there colors, numbers to 10, alphabet and potty trained before the age of 2. Just depends on how much you work with them.

I recently learned that my LO does the same when I ask her colors but she will say the correct color when she grabs a crayon. Perhaps a different context would help?
