Hypothyroidism. Does it cause irregular periods?

Went to the doctor to find out what's up with my cycle. Blood work came back fine for all my hormones but shows I have hypothyroidism. Can that cause my irregular periods?

My periods were very irregular until I started taking Synthroid for hypothyroidism. Since then AF is like clockwork.

I had to have a full thyroidectomy in 2011 and you thyroid can alter everything from your period to your bowls to your thinking and even cause dry skin... My skin is so dry some days I want to peel it off.
