There is a movement happening across the US where physicians are preforming "gentle" or "family centered" C sections! What this means is mothers can have

-dimmed lights

-music

-immediate skin to skin

-delayed cord clamping

-sometimes breast feeding in the OR

-free arm or arms to hold baby

-clear drape to see baby being born

-a slow extraction of the baby so to be more like a vaginal birth

-mom, dad, and baby stay together

Please if this interests you ask your provider! The more people ask the bigger the change will be on how C Sections are preformed. In some cases this wouldn't be safe, but if my VBAC fails I want to hold my baby. Not like last time where I didn't get to hold or feed him first. There are videos on youtube that are beautiful examples. ♥️
