One month old today!!
Exactly one month ago today we welcomed our beautiful son into the world, this is our first official picture as a family!! 👪 #hunterwilliamthompson
Birth story: On the Thursday before our son was born we were told we would be induced on Saturday October 7, due to my BP being elevated (at this point I was 4cm and had been having contractions all week on and off). We were nervous, but mostly excited to finally meet our baby boy. We got a call sat late afternoon to come in, and we were started on pitocin to induce labor. The contractions started quickly and it was the worst pain I’ve ever felt, Justin held my hand and encouraged me. Finally after 12 hours and my water being broken I decided to get an epidural (one of the best decisions I’ve ever made). I was finally able to sleep a little. The next day I was told Hunter was head down but facing the wrong direction, a doctor came in to manually try and turn him. They said it wouldn’t be easy and I’d have to push really hard, I tried my best for 5 hours and they finally said he was almost here. But that I’d need assistance to get him out (especially since I was running a fever and most likely had an infection) or end up with a cesarean (which I wanted to avoid). Justin and I were scared but decided to try a vacuum assist, the risks were scary but we were so close. The doctors tried and eventually stopped and said she thought it was best for Hunter and I to get him out ASAP. I looked at Justin cause I was scared and exhausted, but we knew we would do anything to have our son here safely. After getting prepped Justin and I were in the OR and on October 8th, 2017 at exactly 7:07pm we heard our son cry for the first time and he was finally here!!
