May be it's too late to write a birth story after 16 months of being with the baby but I was so inspired with the birth stories here so thought I should write

39 weeks, I started noticing fluid coming through my vagina after passing urine,it was involuntary and somehow I knew it wasn't pee, I had more amniotic fluid, but no gestational diabetes.

Went for 40 weeks appointment, doctor did litmus test and my instinct was so correct,it was amniotic fluid and it was high leak due to more amount of fluid. From then on daily I went to the birth centre to get an antibiotic injection so that baby wouldn't catch infection.

My midwife wouldn't induce till 42 weeks,no signs of labour till then, lost my mucous plug, still no contractions,if both mom and baby are doing fine,we can wait is the answer.

All through this two weeks I was undergoing natural induction but no sign of labour and somehow I knew my body needed medical induction.

41+6, 30 mins apart contractions through out the midnight,Every contraction made me wake up from sleep and only toilet seat was giving me some rest as I had severe urge to poop.

By morning rest of the water broke so I went to birth centre as the baby was very low and thought would progress quickly but to my surprise,my contractions spaced out after going to birth centre,I was only 2.5 cm dilated and then towards afternoon, they gave me cervidil and I started getting contractions manageable but strong,I couldn't sleep the whole night and was exhausted by morning, I progressed to only 4 cm by afternoon at 42 weeks.

At 3pm they started Pitocin and it was horrible I was constantly moving, walking, changing positions and bearing down my baby just wanting to deliver my baby by hook or crook.

Around 10pm when I was hopeful things where progressing,I was still at 6.5 cm,I was so dejected and I asked for epidural.

Meanwhile, I get injections to dilate my cervix and my midwife massages my cervix to dilate it faster and it felt so uneasy that I wanted to kick her.

My baby's head was too big and I had severe rectal pressure, my midwife is against epidural so I asked for c section, so that atleast she could give epidural, by the time anesthesiologist came and gave me epidural it was almost 1 am next day, 42+1 weeks.

After epidural I felt much better,I was pooping all through the OT table, my midwife checks me and I am shocked that I am at 10cm, yayyy!!!!

God knows how this cervix dilates

My midwife thought I couldn't push because of epidural but I pushed like pro for may be 30 mins and there came my baby boy 3.75 kgs and 57 cms with not a drop of fluid and full of meconium, with first degree tear which healed in no time.

He immediately latched and everything was great from then on and it felt every pain was worth him.

PS: I am 35 weeks pregnant with our 2nd baby now and I am little scared thinking about my 48 hours labour first time and going till 42 weeks but I already did it once so why wouldn't I do it again????

I always wanted a natural labour but induction disheartened me but this time atleast I pray that I go through natural labour, fingers crossed
