In what world to lesbian women only dress masculinely.

My fiancé is the sweetest man I've ever met, but when I told him I used to dress like a guy when I was in high school and use the men's restroom whenever the ladies' was occupied, he thought that meant I was a lesbian. I identified as pretty masculine at that time, but I still liked guys. My fiancé had never heard of that combination. Some people have just never had an opportunity to learn these things, partly because the places they live in are isolated, stagnant & suffocating as f*ck. (We live in Oklahoma. I was lucky enough to live in California for 11 years — San Francisco for 6 of those years — and I learned a thing or two.)
