Alcohol??

Question

I’m only 18 and I’ve never tried drugs or alcohol. I’m in college now and everyone around me drinks a lot of alcohol. They’ve never pressured me but I’m so curious as to what it tastes like. I don’t know what to do....

Despite being underage (if you live in the U.S.) there's nothing wrong with trying it. You don't have to feel pressured into it just because everyone else is though. While drinking can be fun, excessive drinking can lead to many other possibly bad situations. If you are curious, trying alcohol in a controlled situation or with trusted friends is best. If you have never drank before and you're relatively small, you will have a very low tolerance to alcohol. Pay attention to alcohol content of drinks... mixed drinks with liquor are very hard to tell how much alcohol is actually in them if you aren't watching the person who makes it. Beer and wine coolers typically have a lower alcohol content but it depends on how big the bottle/can is. But don't ever feel like you have to do it just because others are. Be smart and safe!

I didn't drink even a sip until I turned 21.
It's a good party line when you're playing drinking games and can say things like "never have I ever been drunk underage" or something and you get literally almost everyone else playing to drink 😉
As to knowing your limits, it just depends on who you are as a person. Yeah if you wait until you're 21 you may go all out on your birthday and get super trashed. But that's no different than those 18 year Olds who go out and get super trashed.

Try drinking wine before you dive into the hardcore stuff ( Smirnoff, wine coolers , mikes hard liquor , moscato ) it's not nearly as strong but a step toward trying alcohol to get the feel . And make sure you're around people you trust will take care of you in case you get a little buzzed or drunk . Good luck !

Wow by that age I had given up grog and drugs 😳 there no harm in trying alcohol, I’d advise you not to do drugs but if wanna try it, try it.

Don't do it if you aren't comfortable. I'm also 18 but because my family is German I've always been allowed sips of whatever my parents were drinking. 
Beer, especially cheap beer (my love 💕), tastes like piss to most people but the colder you get it the better it tastes. 
I can't really stand dry wines but they're not awful. Anything dry pretty much just burns. Things like Schnapps and other similar liquors are pretty great though.

Hi, 19 year old goodie two shoes here. 
My sister is a doctor who has an interesting philosophy about this. If you try alcohol before the age of 21, you are less likely to exceed your limits when you ARE 21. 
Seems to be working for me so far. I've learned my limits of alcohol. If I were you, I would try some "bitch beers" as the men call it. Mikes Hard Lemonades, or the pink Lemonades. be in a safe place with people you trust, make sure no one is going to be driving.
