will insurance cover antibiotics?

hey guys so I'm thinking about going to the walk in because I have very bad abdominal pain. If something is wrong and they have to give me medication or antibiotics will my insurance cover it? I know it used to cover my birth control but I'm not sure if it will cover antibiotics and i have no money, any help would be appreciated.

it really depends on the insurance and what med it is. if you go in, you can always explain your situation to the dr, I always ask for meds that are cheaper or even on Wal-Mart's $4 list.

Most of the time yes. But just like everyone else said you have to find out through your insurance and pharmacy. If it's not covered ask if it would be at a different pharmacy. But I've never had antibiotics not covered on an insurance policy before.

have the pharmacy contact your insurance company to a medication similar to the one the Dr prescribes that is covered by your insurance .

It depends on if you have pharmacy coverage or not. But as others mentioned you can get antibiotics cheap or even free at some places.

There’s a few places that offer antibiotics for free(like Publix). Call around. I don’t know what stores are around you.
