prescription

so im anemic amd my doctor finally sent my order in for my iron pills but insurance wont cover them . the lady at the pharmacy told me i can buy them over the counter . my question is say i dont go to that pharmacy because its like an hour away can i go to one close to me and have them look up the prescription to tellme which ones i can buy. like do all cvs pharmacies have access to the same data or do i have to make the drive and go to the one its originally filled at
