When to move baby to her own room?

Hey mommies ! NTM here and I'm just trying to figure out how long I should have my baby in our room with us. When did you guys move your babies to their nursery? And did you move them even if you're breastfeeding ?

AAP recommends the baby stay in the parents' room a minimum of 6 months, preferably a year. We planned on a year, but moved him about 2 weeks ago when he was 6.5 months. We were waking him up when we'd come in at night, anytime we switched positions in bed, the dog would wake him up too, etc. So I think you just need to be realistic and do what works best for you! It was tough not having him right by me after the move, but I'm not so stressed about waking him and his sleep is important! I watch the monitor all night like a hawk!

We moved ours into her own room around 3 months.

I’m delivering next week and plan on having him in my room for a month and then I️ will transfer him to his own room/crib that way he is used to it right away 🙂
