Nail clipping

Hi everyone, if someone can give me an answer! On Saturday I cut my sons nails he is one month old, I didn’t noticed I cut his finger as well. Today I noticed he has a yellow scab right next to his nail, and I tried to touch his finger and he cried a lot! Could’ve been infected? Also he is going to get surgery tomorrow will this be a problem? Thank you
