How long did you stay in hospital or at a Birthing Centre after birth?

Just wondering, as I have the choice (if all goes to plan) to give birth at a beautiful relaxing Birthing Centre in the Cotswolds but they keep you about 2hrs after birth (24hrs max) or I have to go to our nearest hospital which is a bit grim. They make dads leave between 10pm and 8am and keep you min 6hrs, mostly at least 24hrs +. I’m quite a stressy person and my partner and I are both concerned I won’t feel ready to leave in under 24hrs but it’s a more stressful environment at the hospital - the thought of it makes me panic.

Just wondered what other people have done?
