Started a new job while TTC π¬
I recently started a new job. It was a transfer to one of our sister companies and I replaced a woman who quit to give birth to twins.
I left my other job for any reasons, one of which is that DH and I are TTC and with an hour long commute and extremely high stress my anxiety was off the charts.
This new job is less stressful and the drive is so much better. I feel lighter and supported by the people around me and I have more opportunities for advancement.
Today my boss jokingly said she needs two years notice if I plan on having babies. I know she isnβt serious but the fact that I replaced someone who left TO have babies makes me aware of the position I could be putting them in if I find out Iβm pregnant anytime soon. Weβve been TTC since August so it could happen anytime. I almost feel like I should pump the brakes on TTC until Iβve been there a little longer...like at least 3-4 months. I guess a year on the job before going on maternity leave as opposed to 9 months seems βbetterβ in my mind. Technically I have two and a half years tenure with the parent company so they have to honor the FMLA laws so Iβm not worried about that. Iβm just worried about putting them in a bad spot... π€·ββοΈ
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of situation and if so, how did you handle it?
