I am 18 and a freshman in college. I have a huge crush on one of my teachers. She is a grad student and is five years older than me. We are already great friends. I looked in the graduate assistant handbook and it does not say anything against a student and graduate assistant dating. Should I ask her out? I really, really like her. I want to have a relationship with her and want to keep class and the relationship separate, would that no okay?

Wait until the class is over and then you can ask. I know it might be hard to wait but you’ll be happy you waited until there was less of a weird power dynamic happening. Plus I think this would probably fall under the rules of a professor dating a student.
