My husband and I got a new artificial Christmas tree. we had a $100 tree that we managed to squeeze 6 years use out of, but this year it won't manage. we started putting it up last night, got about 2/3 done. It's a 7.5 ft tree and has a LOT of branches, and it's from BalsamHill.com, so it's beautiful (and we spent about $300, saved $200, we want this to LAST). Fluffing out the branches is taking a while, but I figure we would finish when I get home from work today. So, my husband is at home with our 19 month old, since he has the day off, I go home for lunch, have a nice meal, then proceed to get ready to leave to go back to work. My MIL calls my husband and it's a quick conversation. I asked what's up, he said she wants to come over to see the tree. I just stared at him, "why?" She wants to see the tree, was his response. This makes me so annoyed. My MIL is so extra, it's ridiculous. I said to my husband, "The tree is not even fully up, no light, so ornaments, and she's coming over on Thursday for Thanksgiving. Why does she need to come see the tree now?" Don't get me wrong, I love my MIL, she really is wonderful, but ahe is so extra and spoiled by her husband. She always gets to do what she wants, and it was a simple request to cone see the tree, but it's so stupid to come all the way to our house to look at a friggin tree! And this just set me off. Don't know why. I just kissed my husband and my daughter, then I left. Now, I'm sitting at work, an hour later, and I'm still pissy about it. I'm just ready for this day to be over...
