Bright red blood

Hello,

I will be 37 weeks tomorrow. This evening after work I had a small amount of bright red spotting, no mucous.

When I went in for my doctors appointment on Tuesday I was 1cm dilated and my cervix was thinning.

At 35 weeks I had light pink spotting and the doctor said not to worry.

When I saw my doctor Tuesday she told me a little bleeding was normal and I didn’t need to call but if it was period like bleeding to go right to the hospital.

I know she said it was normal to have some spotting just wondering if anyone else experienced anything similar. Could this mean the baby is coming sooner then planned?
