TTC for baby #2

So me and my fiancé have been TTC for 3 months now and this month my period is a day late. But I had extremely light spotting like it was just a smear of blood when I wiped for two days. When I had my first baby it wasn’t planned and I didn’t know I was pregnant until 9 weeks. So I don’t know if I should take a test or not. I keep having dreams I am pregnant. For all of you guys more experienced in this area should I take a test or wait a couple weeks?
