Would you accept a sweep at 39weeks?

Not really sure why They offered me a sweep next week (low risk pregnancy and perfectly healthy, I had two growth scan but baby ended up being fine)  I won't even be full term yet, not sure what's the right decision. I'm excited I might have him earlier but i feel like I should at least wait to be 40 weeks.

I wouldn’t accept a sweep ever again because my experience was bad, but if I wasn’t anti-sweep I’d be fine with one at 39 weeks. It will not put you into labor if your body isn’t ready and 39 weeks is full term, so it’s fine.

If your baby hasn't come out yet it means he/she needs a little more time, why speed it up then. That's my personal opinion

I have read research saying that it just makes you uncomfortable but isn’t actually proven to put you into labor vs just give you contractions for a little bit

37 weeks is considered full term so having a sweep at 39 to me means nothing. A sweep also doesn’t mean you’ll go into labor. Some women get multiple sweeps and the baby still comes when they want to! Just talk it over with your doctor so you feel comfortable!

The hospital offers 3x sweeps after 39 weeks.  With all this prelabour I've been having,  On Thursday I will definitely take up the offer!!  I'm tired of all the period pains day and night for the last week and just want to meet my baby!

I did a sweep at 39.5 weeks with my last pregnancy and went for a 3 mile walk the next day. Went into labor that night. He was two days early. But doesn’t work for everyone. I just didn’t want to go overdue

A week ago I would’ve gladly accepted a sweep! But then I found out I’m GBS positive soooo I don’t think I can. But if I was allowed to, I think I would. I know baby will still come on her own time, but a sweep was a step in the right direction if it felt like NOTHING was happening 😄

My doctor said that at 39 weeks he encourages all of the tricks for trying to get baby out so if he suggested a sweep I might do it because baby is full term :)
