My son is 12months old and I cosleep with him in his room and my poor DH sleeps by himself :( My 12months old son goes to sleep between 8-9 and wakes up between 6-630: and naps are all over the place. My biggest concern is him not knowing how to put himself to sleep. I love holding him and snuggling with him but when he goes to sleep I usually have to rock him until he falls asleep. Once he falls asleep, most of the time he sleeps through the night (but still wakes up a couple times and I give him a pacifier then he goes back to sleep.) Some nights he wakes up and plays for 2-3hours before he goes back to sleep. I don't know if he is so dependent on me because i cosleep with him and I need to let him sleep by himself. Will he finally learn how to fall asleep by himself when he is ready or if I keep cosleep going with him, he will never learn ? I planned to move him to a big boy bed when he turns two and let him sleep by himself. My friend who did CIO told me she never went into her son's room when she did CIO and it took her almost a month. I don't know what's good for my son.
