So my MIL has said some really stupid things since I've been pregnant. For example, be careful with my belly button, because that's how the baby eats... I can't remember other things atm, but just stupid things. I don't blame her for her ignorance, as she got pregnant very young with an abusive man. She never graduated high school, and I'm assuming she didn't have access to the internet and friends to confide in and to educate her. My roommate and possible future SIL though, LET ME TELL YOU! She has some stupid family. I Google everything, and research anything that people try to tell me about my body, my baby, and my pregnancy. I will listen to anyone's advice, but like to make sure that it's legitimate. This girl grew up with some uneducated family that she's very close to. I try my best not to judge, but... I just do not agree with her and her family. Her sister just had a baby. They all smoke cigarettes and smoke weed. Her sister quit cold turkey as soon as she found out she was pregnant. My roommate continues to smoke both She claims that she's cutting down, but we all see that she's not. She tried to tell me the other day "the nurses tried to tell me I HAVE to take my prenatal vitamins." My husband and I just looked at each other in disbelief. I said, well you really should take them. It's for both you and your baby.. If the issue is that you take them in the morning and you can't keep them down, then take them at night before dinner or something. She said the nurses said something similar to her. She also won't let go of this stupid truck her dad gave them that is a pos simply bc they got it from her dad. It's not safe for baby, and they could get another vehicle thats affordable but she refuses. I really liked her before she got pregnant but now she's just a raging idiot who is so overprotective and very loud about everything. AGHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Okay I feel a little better now.
