Guys... is this normal

my guy "an it's complicated" and I live 300 miles apart. we see each other like once a month. we just had a miscarriage in September ( not a planned pregnancy) since our mc he has been soooo much better to me. treats me how a guy should treat his lady. even uses the L word now.. but our sex is not what it used to be. the other day I was in town but for a friend of mine and only got to see my guy for.about an hour and a half. I've been having a rough time, 3 close friends with cancer, laid off from work(out of season, I work in road construction) and I'm having a hard time passing my college chem class I need to graduate. So all wanted was to jump his bones but he just wanted to spend time together, said there's more things than just sex and that id been having such a hard time he thought I'd like to just hang. he did make the most of the short time I had but I feel like this is bs... and i dont wanna be mean when he's just trying to be sweet( I'm not used to sweet him as we've always just been fwb) is he trying to pursue more with me? was he just trying to be supportive? am I overreacting cause I'm horny lol? or am.i reading b.s. for.what it is.. b.s.?
