What is in my pie pumpkin?

I just cut open my pie pumpkin and I saw this white thing in there. It doesn’t move. Is it a worm? If not is it normal?

Update: it turns out that the seeds in the pumpkin had started to sprout so that’s what is 🙃

It’s not a worm. It’s a sprouted pumpkin seed. It’s normal.

Take it out and look closer. What’s a pie pumpkin? I would toss it just for the thought it might be a worm 🐛
