Start of labor?

Did anyone's labor start out as painless stomach tightening which turned into real contractions?

Go on YouTube and search for "Liz Chalmers Balloon Contractions" it's really interesting and explains the whole process!
But yeah you should have Braxton-Hicks (tight painless contractions, also known as practice contractions) before you start having pre-labor contractions. Having Braxton-Hicks doesn't necessarily mean you are going into labor, but if they are coming consistently definitely start timing them!

My doctor said that if I had a Braxton Hicks for more than 5 minuets, that means it’s a beginning of the labor.

Yes. Both times I started with painless Braxton hicks. The difference was they kept coming at regular intervals no matter my position and got increasingly crampier/painful.

I'd like to know as well because I've always experienced Braxton hicks through my pregnancy, but being due on Monday and then coming in a lot more stronger these last couple days, pretty painless but tightening to the point of leaving me short on breath, I'm wondering if labour is near.. my stomach gets extremely hard.

Yep ! 2 days of this. First day I️ could manage do to things thru the contractions and they weren’t timetable. I️ walked my dogs and cooked dinner and I️ couldn’t time them. Next day they happened again and I️ did the same. Walked my dogs and cooked dinner but this time I️ could feel them thru the distractions... could time them. And went to the hospital. Baby came that night

Yes!! Then it turned into a feeling of having to poop with every BH. That slowly turned into stronger contractions and closer together

Yes. Also light period cramps for me. Also a few days before this started, I started losing bits of my hair which I knew was a sign. 👌🏻
