Condom catastrophe

So the other day my bf and I had sex with each other for the first time in our relationship. (He used a condom) Every time he went deeper into me, it felt like I was fucking a plastic bag. Which was horrible. Every time I would look over he would be playing with his dick to make it more hard. Later on we had a convo about this and he said the condom would slip off of him while he was inside me. ( btw he didn't come inside me) my question is can condom be to big for his meat? Do I just need to just lube? Are there condoms like make it feel as if nothings there?
