Nuchal scan?

Does everyone get a nuchal scan around 12 weeks? I have an appointment at 12w4d, but they didn't say what would be happening.

Mine took alot of measurements, specifically of behind the babys neck. Also as long as she could get a measurement she said I had to give a quick finger prick of blood.

I got one around 12 week. It was basically a good detailed scan of baby at that point, similar to the detailed/anatomy scan at 18-20 weeks. Prior, to the test, I got the 2nd trimester blood screening tests, so everything was all good.

Getting mine this week (Dr recommended because I’m high risk)

It’s optional. I decided against any optional screening bc it won’t change anything. I wanted to enjoy my pregnancy and not worry if they found something, which sometimes ends up being nothing.

I thought it was an automatic but the doctor told me it was actually done optionally and at a different facility. We opted against because we have none of the major risk factors and don't believe in abortion no matter the outcome. I decided to wait until the anatomy scan and just address any issues from there.

My Dr asked if I wanted that and I said no but I wish I would've.

I opt out of it so I never get it. so no  not everyone gets one.
