Breast feeding vs pumping?

FTM here. I think I want to breast feed. I’d like to know what are some of the advantages or disadvantages of breast feeding in comparison to pumping?
In the beginning do you think it will be possible for me to both breast feed and pump? Or is it not advised to try to do both? do you think it’s possible my baby can have difficult latching on?

tried pumping so my husband could help, helllll no...im 5 months in pumped one 2 oz. bag for the freezer and that's it. the washing is tedious, sitting there stinks, and it just is a pain in the behind when I can just put her on my breast feed for 10 minutes and she's done. so much easier for baby and mama..dad can help in other ways since you would be the only one feeding, like diaper changes. but if you don't have to pump to go back to work or something like that I see no logical reason to do it.

Pumping is hard work. I had to pump in the beginning because my supply was low but then had to pump exclusively because my son rejected me after the bottle. I did it for 6 months before switching to formula. I'm hoping this time around I can breastfeed exclusively.

Ours had a lip tie that wasn’t caught for a bit so he couldn’t latch. I pumped. It’s doable just takes planning if you don’t use a manual. I had the spectra 2 pump

I did both once I had to go back to work. I think direct feeding is much easier and more comfortable. If you want to breastfeed directly I think you should mainly do that just in the beginning to establish baby's latch. Pumping should be plan b if you can't directly feed or if you go back to work or need to leave baby with another person, in which case do practice bottles with the baby from time to time (with my first I didn't and then he wouldn't take a bottle!)
